I joined the Army National Guard and during our weekly five-minute call home from basic training, they'd tell me they couldn't talk because they had to call my stepbrother in jail. Oh, I could go on and on with the imbalance and craziness. I just learned never to ask for anything and I became a bit of a workaholic because I knew that I had no family to turn to in a pinch. That was my dad and stepmom, too.

My for example is as follows:Sometimes you do need a little help so when we ask for a little help fixing a car or septic system cause the stupid neighbor reported us and you say your gonna help do it but don't they just make excuses and help the BIL (who just got out of jail and has no wife or kids)and SIL(who has no joband no husband and no kids) who live off welfare while we work hard to maintain for our kids.
